Matthew Amoah Jr pens professional contract with Feyenoord

Matthew Amoah Jr has penned down his first professional contract with Dutch side Feyenoord Rotterdam for the next three seasons.

The 15-year-old striker is the son of Ghanaian legend Matthew Amoah who featured in Ghana's first ever FIFA World Cup in 2006 in Germany.

Having stayed his entire life in the Netherlands, the teenager can choose one of Ghana or the Netherlands as his national side as he continues his development in top flight football.

After signing his contract with Feyenoord in the presence of his parents, Matthew Amoah Jr expresses his joy in fulfilling his childhood dreams and calls for support to help his side next season.

"I am very proud to have signed my first contract with Feyenoord,” said Amoah, who has been playing for the club since he was a young boy.

“I have worked towards this wonderful moment all these years, and next season I want to take the next step in my development and hope to be important for my team again by giving assists and scoring goals.”

He will regularly be part of the U-18 side of the club and will be joining training at the senior level when the need arises.
