Maxwell Konadu joins Black Leopards FC in South Africa

Immediate past head coach of Nsoatreman FC, Maxwell Konadu has officially completed a move to South Africa side Black Leopards on a three-year-deal.

The former Asante Kotoko SC gaffer moved to South African second-tier football after guiding Nsoatreman FC to win the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup.

After signing the contract, Chairman of Black Leopards, Chief Thidiela said:

“We can indeed confirm that we have reached an agreement with Maxwell Konadu.”

“It’s always difficult for people coming here to adjust. But with the support that he is going to get from the assistant coaches and other locals, I think he will be able to do it.”

“The only nice thing is that with football, it’s round. Fortunately, the world is also round, so it’s the same everywhere. I don’t think it will be difficult for him to adapt.”

“There are just a few things that might be difficult but can be easily dealt with. We are confident that he will be able to do well.”

The achievement places the Nsoatre-based side into the 2024/25 CAF Confederations Cup as a big motivation to the club.

With a year left on his contract, Maxwell Konadu moves outsides the shores of Ghana in search of new challenge in the Division One football of South Africa where he aims to secure promotion into South Africa's top flight football for the 2025/26 season.

The 51-year-old finished 4th on the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League league and had previously won the league with Asante Kotoko SC.
